Shakespeare's and Ovid's Epitaphs
4value-sum
6x252
I. Introduction
1.
Shakespeare's
intention in his epitaph is to pay honour to Jesus and his virgin mother Mary
and to the Holy Trinity. Shakespeare recognizes divine gematric wisdom in the
two latinised 5-letter names of MARIA and IESUS. The gematric
equivalents of the initials MI are 12+9 = 21. The numbers 12
and 9 are commonly associated with the three
sides of the tetractys which each consist of 4
points and 3 lines. It's a special case in
which the partial number 12 is set in a
ratio to the total sum 21. The sense of it
may be a bit complicated. The general idea lies in the two concentric circles
of the hexagram, whose ratio is 1:3 or 1:2 if only the extension part of the
outer circle is considered:
|
The two trinitarian ratios can
be represented by elements of the hexagon and the extension part or the whole
hexagram. One example for this are the numbers 9
and 12 themselves whose factory values (FV) are 6+7 = 13,
which is the number of hexagonal elements in the double rhombus which as a
whole consists of 21 elements:
|
The 13:21
elements represent the area ratio 1:3.
2.
A
similar relationship can be established with the tetractys side:
|
The graphic shows one tetractys side consisting of
4 extension elements and 3 hexagonal elements. The area ratio thus represented
is 2:1.
However, if 4 points are put in relation to 3 lines or the 7
elements of one side, the area ratio would be in both cases 3:3. It's perhaps because 12+21 is 33 that the
ratio 3:3 is transferred to the two-digit
sum.
|
3.
If we
transfer the ratio 12:(12+9) to IESUS and MARIA,
we might say that the Virgin Mary did not only give birth to the Son of God,
more or less passively, but she cooperates with him most actively in
accomplishing the task of redemption.
II. 6x252
1.
Shakespeare
is interested in the numbers 21 and 12 particularly because the W and M are the
equivalent letters in WILLIAM. He is also aware that if the elements of all three
sides of the tetractys are counted the sum 18
corresponds to his initial S, but if the
elements of each side are counted, the sum is 21,
the NV of W.
2.
The
product 12*21 = 252 is also a palindomic
number which represents the 5
elements of the hexagonal axis and 2+2
elements of its extension. In addition it signifies the 2+5+2 elements of a divided circle.
3.
The 4+1+1 units of 4v-sum
252 arise form 12
words and 45 letters. They have already been
dealt with in an article about the 4 Y-words.
In another part the detailed values can be looked up.

The NS 670 is identical with the NS+FS of Ovid's and Shakespeare's names. The NS+FS 347 corresponds to the NS of the trinitarian names. The FV1/2 sum 349 is prime and to be understood as 3*4+9 = 21 elements of the 3 tetractys sides.

The
word MY occurs twice. If the second is added
to the other 4 Y-words, remarkable results
appear:

182 is the NS of IESUS CHRISTUS,
which confirms Shakespeare's idea of connecting Mary with her son IESUS, who is also the Son of God.
The 45 letters correspond to the NS of the genitive case MARIAE.
It is a way for Shakespeare to entrust himself completely to Mary's guidance
and protection. The 4v-sum of MARIAE is the same as that of IESUS:

IESUS
MARIAE means Jesus, son
of Mary. The NS+FS
188 is identical with the NS of IESUS (70) CHRISTUS (112).
