WILLIAM
I. Introduction
I. Introduction
1.
The Roman gematric system gave
the Latin language immortality. Shakespeare felt he might achieve the same for
the English language. He wanted to do so for the Christian era. He did not only
want to connect the pre-christian with the Christian era, but also the
different epochs of British history, the Celtic, Roman, the Anglo-Saxon and the
Norman epochs and to reconcile the old with the new faith.
2.
In this sense Shakespeare
considered his name WILLIAM to
comprise the continuity and changes of history in an ideal way. It was
especially William the Conqueror
who enriched the nation with the French language.
1.
WILLIAM
is a word of inversion. The initial letter W
and the final letter M are consistent inversions in accordance with their
inverted numerical values 21 and 12. Furthermore, the letters IL
change to LI.
2.
Shakespeare
based his gematric calculations on 24 letters. The only new letter is the W which represents 21 as inversion of 12 with somwhat better logic than X, which in itself also shows the inversions of V an A.

The two
inverted numbers 12 and 21 can be represented by two semicircles: The starting point is
named 1, the
opposite point 2:
|
The complete circle can be
understood as a disc that either stands fixed in one place or turns round its
axis as shown in the next two figures:
|
SUN and EARTH serve as a model for
this: The earth seems to be moveless and the sun seems to move during daytime
form 1 to 2 and during the dark of night form 2 to 1. But in reality it's
the earth that moves around its axis so that during day 1 moves towards 2 and 2 towards 1. During night half of
the earth is averted from the sun which is the fixed star.
5.
INVERSION signifies completeness of two halves forming a whole and
complementation of one half by the second half as the mirror image of the first
half. Inversion means both change and circular progression.
The axis
that divides a circle into two halves consists of 3 points and 2 radial lines which
makes 5 elements. As one radial line is
If WILLIAM is divided according
to the inverted letters IL-LI, the NS are 41+33 = 74. Thus the single
digits 4+1 and 3+3 show the double aspect of 5 diametric and 6 radial elements:

There are two
gematric connections between WILLIAM and IESUS CHRISTUS. The first consists in the identity of the 4value sum 182 of WILLIAM with the NS of IESUS (70) CHRISTUS (112):

The second connection is provided by the NS+FS 126 of WILLIAM and 294 of IESUS

1.
After the first
couple ADAM and EVA had sinned, all mankind lived in remoteness from God. It was
the Virgin MARIA who reverted
mankind's unredeemed state by consenting to become the mother of the Son of
God. As she was greeted AVE (in Latin translation) by the
angel and obeyed God's will, she turned EVA's sin of disobedience.
Another
symbolic change is to be found in the inversion of the last letters AM of ADAM into the first letters MA of MARIA. It means that MARIA brought forth the second ADAM, IESUS CHRISTUS.
When Shakespeare, in his epitaph, says BLESTE BE THE MAN, he associates the English word MAN with MARIA's merit to transform the
unredeemed state of mankind into the redeemed state of every Christian. If Jesus Christ is the perfect
MAN, the Virgin Mary is the perfect WOMAN:
The unredeemed state of mankind can be compared to the EARTH's half rotation
that makes dark what was illuminated by the SUN before. The Virgin Mary completed
the EARTH's revolution by giving birth to the SON of God:
|
2.
Just as the Latin letter X with the NV 21 is composed of V (20) and A (1), and EVA is changed to AVE, accordingly the
original place of X is taken by W which is formed if the A is turned from top to
bottom. We might say that X represents the old and W the new order:
|
|
3. Both letters M and W stand for the Virgin Mary. The name WILLIAM retains the final letters of ADAM. So Shakespeare allows MARIA, the perfect WOMAN, to transform his imperfect state
of ADAM into a true follower of Jesus
Christ, the perfect MAN.
